During the latest episode of “Not Gonna Lie with Kylie,” the iconic podcaster, Kylie Kelce, opened up with some real talk. She discussed everything from her best TV show recommendations right now to her childhood celebrity crushes. And of course, even her best tips for getting through the 1-2 kids transition for parents. It was genuinely helpful and, honestly, pretty relatable for parents who have gone through this transition.
Kylie Kelce’s tip for going from 1 to 2 kids is so useful for toddler moms
While discussing her own experience about going from 1 to 2 kids during the latest episode, Kylie Kelce explained, “1 to 2, to me, felt great. It was entertainment for the older and entertainment for the younger. When the older one is launching themselves off of things, the little blob is just lying there watching them like, ‘hey, that’s pretty crazy!’ So, it’s built-in entertainment in both directions, which I really appreciated.” But that’s not all, Kelce also further added, “The good news about going from 1 to 2 is that you still have a hand for each, if they do ready, break, and then they run different directions, you can literally still grab both of them.”
Furthermore, she also discussed the age gap between the two kids as she added, “So, 20 months apart feels good. Our oldest kids are 17 months apart. It was so nice because now it feels like they’re hitting stages very quickly behind each other. It’s been that way the whole time. And, they’ll learn from each other. It’s so cool to have siblings that are that close in age. I’m biased, because all of our splits are 17 months, almost 2 years, and almost 2 years. It’s great. I love it.”
Lastly, she also gave just one tip, which was so helpful. She explained, “I will say, get a really good baby wrap. Something that you’re comfortable with and that you can put on easily. I was not the person who liked the really long one that you have to figure out how to tie and tuck and all that stuff.” She added, “I watched plenty of videos, and I got the hang of it. I still didn’t like it. It wasn’t good for me. I think a baby wrap because if your second is a velcro baby, it’s so much easier to strap them in. Make sure their head is secure, and they’re tucked safely into your chest.”
She wrapped it up by saying, “I am not a medical professional. But the tip I was given was that you should easily be able to kiss them on the head just by dropping your chin. So, you get both your hands back.” Kylie also funnily explained how you probably shouldn’t feel bad if you drop some food on their head. As long as you remember to pick it up or eat it off!
