Guadalajara-based djent-corrido metalers Ladrones have released a music video for their next single, “No Que No.” The track will be the third single from the upcoming Arriba La L, scheduled for an August 28th release on Rise Records. “No Que No” appears to be the last track on the album, closing out the victory lap established in the first two singles with some reggaeton-inspired grooves and some tasteful Polyphia-adjacent lead riffs courtesy of guitarist and mixing room secret weapon Jose Macario. Like everything we’ve seen so far off Arriba La L, this song grooves hard, but goes for broke in the last several seconds with a brutally slow half-time breakdown, like if a reggaeton track fell through the dance floor straight to hell, found a mosh pit already in full swing, and started causing capital-P Problemas. It’s the kind of finale that makes you want to hit play on Track 1 again the second the dust settles.
The video, of course, is precisely the kind of garden-variety big budget machista braggadocio vehicle I should probably want to keep at arms length, but the majority of the runtime is the band performing and throwing bills around in a combination dive bar/strip club absolutely packed with goth baddies. And unfortunately, I am forced to admit that the whole thing looks like a lot of fun. They got me. Got my ass. And it doesn’t help at all that the video is accompanying some of the most convincingly refreshing nu to drop so far this year.

Ladrones has also announced a Mexico tour in August leading up to and coinciding with the release of Arriba La L, and then a US and Canada tour supporting Texan tech-rockers Polyphia in the fall.
