Also named in the initial rollout of performers Monday was gospel artist CeCe Winans, who will sing alongside Tennessee’s famed Fisk Jubilee Singers. Additional performers are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
Headquarters for the live broadcast will be a public stage set up at Nashville’s Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park.
As streaming availability goes, Paramount+ Premium subscribers can stream the special live via the live feed of their local CBS affiliate, or on-demand. Paramount+ Essential subscribers can’t stream the show live, but will be able to access it on-demand the next day.
Robert Deaton, the longtime executive producer of the CMA Awards, and Mary Hilliard Harrington, one of Nashville’s top artist managers, return as executive producers, working in partnership with Music City Inc., an arm of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. Sandra Restrepo will direct.
Among the headliners, Wilson is on a roll, in television as well as music. Last week, she was named the sole host of November’s CMA Awards program, after being brought in to co-host with Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning the previous year. She also is tied for the most nominations going into the CMAs, with six nods, including a return shot at being named entertainer of the year.
