KANSAS CITY, MO – The Kansas City Royals completed a three-game series sweep of the Chicago White Sox on Sunday, using two-run home runs by Jonathan India and Adam Frazier to mount a late-inning comeback for a 6-2 victory.
The White Sox held a 2-0 lead for much of the game, with starter Davis Martin allowing only one hit through seven strong innings. The Royals’ offense finally broke through in the bottom of the seventh when Jonathan India blasted a 451-foot, two-run homer that tied the game and matched his longest career hit.
Kansas City then took control in the eighth inning. Maikel Garcia and Salvador Perez hit back-to-back run-scoring singles, giving the Royals a 4-2 lead. Adam Frazier then sealed the win with his fifth home run of the season, a two-run shot that extended the lead to 6-2.
The White Sox’s two runs came from a first-inning home run by Lenyn Sosa and an RBI single by Edgar Quero in the sixth.
The Royals’ bullpen, with Lucas Erceg (5-3) earning the win, kept the White Sox in check. The victory marks the 14th consecutive home win for the Royals against the White Sox, a streak that ties a franchise record for most wins against a single opponent at home.
The Royals will look to continue their momentum on Monday night as they host the Texas Rangers. Michael Wacha (7-9, 3.35 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Royals, while Jack Leiter (7-6, 3.94 ERA) will take the mound for the Rangers.
