The Standout Events of MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN WEEK

Do you have concerns about the Los Angeles Rams and their ability to put up points this season? You’re definitely not alone. The team showed up in Week 1 with everyone 100 percent healthy—yet the offense only managed 14 points, and four players came out of the game banged up. WR Puka Nacua suffered a forehead gash that sent him to the locker room for stitches. TE Colby Parkinson (shoulder), LG Steve Avila (ankle), and RG Kevin Dotson (ankle) haven’t been ruled out for Week 2 but are being evaluated day-to-day.

NFL Spin Zone’s Lou Scataglia is about to squelch those concerns. In his latest article, he pens a bold prediction for each NFL game in Week 2. And for LA’s matchup against the Tennessee Titans, he sees plenty of points being scored by this offense. In fact, he predicts 40-plus points going on the scoreboard in Week 2.

Can this offense just flip a switch and explode for that many points in one game? As much firepower as the team has on the roster, the offense kept everything very close to the chest in Week 1. So yes, this team can absolutely put up a 40-pointer.

The Rams offense needs to flex its muscles in Week 2

While the team has a tough schedule this season, everyone can agree that the Houston Texans posed a big challenge right out of the gate. And it’s safe to assume that the team is expected to have an easier time against the Titans.

Rookie quarterback Cam Ward is still searching for his first NFL touchdown pass, a quest that may continue when it’s all said and done. However, fans shouldn’t expect Matthew Stafford to struggle in this one, at least according to Scataglia.

While Rams Nations agrees that the team needs to put up more points, it seems that far too many Week 2 predictions might be taking an overly optimistic approach. After all, three starting offensive linemen are nursing ankle injuries and did not practice on Wednesday. Meanwhile, three potential playmakers weren’t involved in the Week 1 game plan.

Is that all just going to magically change come kickoff?

Scoring 24-plus would be great. And while putting up 40 would be amazing, that’s a tall ask—especially with the team fighting the urge to look past Tennessee to Week 3 and the Philadelphia Eagles. There’s also little reason to believe they’ll open the playbook against an inferior opponent, which likely means a less innovative offense. As always, thanks for reading.
