Weeks after hinting at a “heart-wrenching” family crisis in an Instagram post marking her 15th wedding anniversary, singer LeAnnRimes has seemingly revealed what she was referring to.
In the April 23 post shared in honor of completing 15 years of marriage to actor Eddie Cibrian, Rimes wrote, “We got to step away for 3 days amidst work and some very tense, heart wrenching things happening at home with family.”

“It’s been a different anniversary, one filled with tears and worry, but in between, there were moments of laughter and deep gratitude for this love of ours,” she added, alongside photos and videos from the couple’s anniversary celebration in Cabo.
The singer is now shedding more light on her family’s struggle, writing in a May 12 Substack post, “We have a parent in rehab after going through a stroke a few weeks ago, so the heaviness in our hearts around that has been hard. Eddie and I are both only children, which means a lot has fallen onto my sweet husband’s shoulders.”
Rimes went on to note how heartbreaking it is to watch her loved one struggle with so much on his plate while she is “barely able to carry” herself. “Honestly, I think that’s been one of the hardest parts of all of this… not even the physical pain, but the helplessness, the vulnerability, the uncertainty,” she explained.
The singer has been experiencing health setbacks of her own lately. On April 29, she took to her Instagram Stories to postpone two of her then-upcoming concerts, writing, “Due to severe illness, I am unable to travel & perform this week. I’m sorry to share that the upcoming shows in Spokane and Seattle will be rescheduled,” (per Us Weekly).

Just a couple of days later, Rimes shared another update on her health struggles, announcing the rescheduling of two more shows in Waukegan, Illinois, and Wilmington, Ohio. “After a diagnosis of covid leading to severe laryngitis, I’m so sorry to have to reschedule next week’s shows. A visit to my doctor for a scope of my vocal cords has confirmed the news,” she wrote at the time.
Sadly, the singer is still coping with her health issues and was forced to postpone two additional concerts in Washington, D.C., and Wilmington, Delaware. On May 12, she, once again announced the news via her Instagram Stories, noting, “[My doctor] has strongly advised me to take an additional week of vocal rest… This sadly means I can no longer perform this weekend” (per Us Weekly).
