Just weeks after engagement rumors swirled, Liam Hemsworth and Gabriella Brooks have confirmed they’re engaged — and the bride-to-be just dropped a first look at her diamond ring.
Posted on Friday, September 12, Brooks’ Instagram carousel kicks off with a black-and-white shot of the couple, with the 29-year-old model wrapping her arm around Hemsworth, 35, from behind and resting her ring hand on his chest. The second slide shows a serene seascape, and the last zooms in on her new diamond against a white bedsheet backdrop. She kept the caption simple: just a single white heart emoji.
As for the rock? Brides asked jewelry expert Benjamin Khordipour of Estate Diamond Jewelry to weigh in, and he estimated the sparkler to be an elongated antique cushion set east–west in a bezel of 18k yellow gold. From the photos, he guessed the diamond is about 4.5 carats with H color, VS2 clarity — a piece he valued around $150,000. “We love the simplicity of the bezel setting, which artfully draws the attention to the stunning center diamond,” Khordipour told the outlet.
Shortly after the post went live, the comments section lit up with congratulations. ELLE Australia editor Jessica Bailey wrote, “Huge congratulations to you! ❤️💍” while ultra-marathon swimmer Ross Edgley chimed in, “YESSSS!! ENGAGEMENT GAINZ! MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU AND THE BIG RIG 🥳❤️🙌❤️.”
Hemsworth and Brooks first popped up on the radar in December 2019, when they were photographed grabbing lunch with his parents in Byron Bay. They didn’t put things on social media until June 2021, when a family post made their relationship Instagram-official.
In a 2020 interview with People, the Aussie actor talked about quarantining with Brooks on Phillip Island, saying life there was “very mellow” and that he could see the ocean from his house. For her part, Brooks told Australia’s Stellarmagazine in 2021 that her relationship was “very, very important and very sacred,” while also praising the Hemsworth family.
