Hero No. 1 star Govinda has been facing constant flak for his antics and statements but the actor recently shared an emotional anecdote where many stories once declared her ‘dead’.
Govinda On ‘Death’ Of His Stardom
Govinda appeared on the latest episode of Twinkle Khanna and Kajol’s talk show Two Much on Amazon Prime, where he said, “It all depends on the environment of the shoot.”
Govinda reflected on a difficult phase in his life when everything seemed to come to a halt. He shared that during that period, many articles were published claiming that his career had ended and that his time in the film industry was over.
The actor admitted that such narratives were disheartening, but he chose to stay resilient and patient, believing that every artist experiences highs and lows in their journey.
He said, “At times, life comes to a standstill. Aap kitna bhi acchi planning kar lijiye, aap kitne acchi dialogue likhwa lijiye, gaane karwa lijiye, par woh kamiyab tab hote hain jab ek mahoul taiyaar hota hain (No matter how good a planning you do, or make promising the script or lyrics or dialogues, a film won’t be successful when the environment is right).”
Govinda also revealed why he decided to produce a movie
“I feel like artists are living in a womb. We think that we are born once, but we are fortunate to be born again and again. Kahi kahi lekh aaya ki, ‘Govinda gaya, Govinda gaya.’ Maine socha chalo ek picture shuru karte hai (There were some articles that said, ‘Govinda’s time is up.’ I thought, let’s produce a movie). I started Aa Gaya Hero. Before that, I met David Dhawan, and he suggested that let’s make a film with Sohail. The hero would be Salman. That’s how Partner came up.”
A few weeks ago, Govinda announced that he would be making a comeback with a movie titled Duniyadari.
