A live version of a hit streaming series from Netflix will play at the Gallo Center. The Modesto Symphony Orchestra plans a 95th anniversary fundraiser at the State Theatre. And, given the holiday weekend, there remain Easter egg hunt options to enjoy. Here’s a look at some of what’s going on in the greater Modesto region from April 4-10.
“Life on Our Planet”
“Netflix Presents Life on Our Planet Live,” hosted by Dan Tapster, at the Gallo Center. The team behind the streaming channel’s “Our Planet” series created this new natural history, making-of show “featuring behind-the-scenes stories from the explorers, filmmakers, scientists, and adventurers who created some of the most eye-catching footage of our planet,” the center’s website says.

MSO 95th celebration
Mark 95 years of music with the Modesto Symphony Orchestra at the State Theatre. This fundraiser features a chamber orchestra performance led by Music Director Nicholas Hersh. Violinist Amaryn Olmeda will perform Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons.” Proceeds support MSO’s music education programs, including the Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra and Link Up. A pre-concert party in The State Theatre’s Intermission and The Jewel is included with the $265 ticket.

“Stop Kiss”
This is the final weekend to catch “Stop Kiss,” presented by Modesto’s Prospect Theater Project. Directed by Traci Sprague, the play written by Diana Son is the story of Callie and Sarah, who are from different backgrounds but begin an unlikely friendship. It starts to develop into something more until a violent act of intolerance.

Farmers Market egg hunt
The Modesto Certified Farmers Market will hold a special Easter market featuring crafts for kids and the Easter Bunny. Egg hunts will be held for ages 1 through 12, with registration beginning at 9 a.m.

Columbia celebration
Dress up in Easter finery to be part of a Victorian-era parade at Columbia State Historic Park, which begins on Main Street at 1 p.m. Egg hunts will be by age group during the event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Find the golden egg to win a prize. Thaddeus E. Hare (aka the Easter Bunny) will walk around town handing out goodies to kids. There will be a raffle for filled Easter baskets at 3 p.m. in front of the Johnson’s Livery stable.
