Lili Reinhart has recalled a harsh acting note she received from a male director while filming, and it left her cast mates enraged.
Reinhart is best known for starring in the likes of Riverdale, Hustlers, and Hal & Harper. The actress also stars in the new horror movie Forbidden Fruits, which hit theaters on March 27.
As promo for the movie – which currently boasts a 75 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes – the cast sat down with Cosmopolitan to ask each other questions.
Reinhart features in the film alongside You and The Haunting favorite Victoria Pedretti, The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Lola Tung, and Anyone But You actress Alexandra Shipp.
One question Reinhart was asked is if there was ever an acting note she got that she took personally.

The 29-year-old went on to recall: “When I had a male director come up to me and silently lean over and go, ‘Just suck in your stomach a little bit.'”
Her cast mates were clearly disgusted and demanded that Reinhart name and shamed him — which she didn’t. “What is his address?” Predretti went on to ask.
Meanwhile, Tung said it was ‘time for a hex’.
The clip of the interview was shared to Cosmopolitan’s TikTok page and it’s safe to say it generated quite a response. One trending theme was Predretti’s reaction…
“That wasn’t Victoria, that was Love Quinn,” one person said, referencing her serial killer You character.
“Victoria turning into Love for a second lol,” said another, as a third wrote: “Love Quinn popped out real quick.”
Elsewhere people shared pictures of a recent viral photo of Reinhart who was wearing a slogan top that read ‘I support a man’s right to shut the f**k up’ (immediately pops into online shopping basket).
In contrast, others said that they’d appreciate the heads up had they been in Reinhart’s position.
One person commented: “Um if my stomach was sticking out, I’d want someone to let me know tho [sic].”
“Nothing wrong with that,” somebody else wrote. “Filmmaking is a directors medium and he has a vision of how his film should look like.”
“Tbh i am a actress and I would be happy if a director told me this,” insisted another.
Can’t say I’d have been particularly appreciative of such remarks…

Reinhart isn’t alone in her experiences; Kate Winslet was told to hide her ‘belly rolls’ on the set of Lee. In the movie, she portrayed the late photographer Elizabeth Lee Miller.
In an interview with the BBC, Winslet said that women should celebrate ‘being a real shape, being soft and maybe having a few extra rolls’.
She went on to recall: “There’s a bit where Lee’s sitting on a bench in a bikini… And one of the crew came up between takes and said: ‘You might want to sit up straighter.’ ‘So you can’t see my belly rolls? Not on your life!’ It was deliberate, you know?”
