Music’s biggest night is full of Louisiana flair.
The 2026 Grammy nominations were announced today, with several categories featuring artists with Louisiana ties. Baskin native Lainey Wilson, 33, is up for three nominations, while the best regional roots music album category is nothing but New Orleans.
Wilson recently brought her “Whirlwind” tour to Baton Rouge and Bossier City in September. In the same month, she received six Country Music Association nominations, including the Entertainer of the Year award.
Now she’s up for the following Grammy nominations:
- Best country solo performance for “Somewhere Over Laredo”
- Best country duo/group performance for “Trailblazer” with Reba McEntire and Miranda Lambert
- Best country song for “Somewhere Over Laredo”

Buddy Guy, 89, a blues guitarist and singer who attended high school in Baton Rouge and worked as a custodian at Louisiana State University, is nominated for best traditional blues album for his album “Ain’t Done With The Blues.”
And Louisiana native Addison Rae, 25, is up for best new artist. Through the years, this award has been given to artists like Chappell Roan, Chance the Rapper, Sam Smith, Adele, Amy Winehouse and Zac Brown Band.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd: Best traditional blues album for “Young Fashioned Ways”
The 68th Grammy Awards will air on Feb. 1 on CBS.
