Little House on the Prairie fans are rejoicing over a new documentary film, Little House Homecoming, after a trailer was released.
On Monday, Nov. 17, Dean Butler—who played Laura Ingalls Wilder’s (Melissa Gilbert) husband, Almanzo Wilder, in the beloved historical drama—took to Instagram to share the big news.
“Get ready to return to the Prairie with us,” he captioned the update. “Being part of Little House Homecoming has been such a meaningful experience. Revisiting these locations, reconnecting with castmates, and celebrating the legacy of Little House on the Prairie reminded me just how deeply this story continues to touch people around the world.”
Butler continued, “I’m honored to help bring this film to fans everywhere. Watch the trailer and get your tickets to the worldwide virtual cinema event, hosted by Alison Arngrim and me.”
In addition to Butler and Arngrim (who played Nellie Oleson), many other familiar faces are included in Little House Homecoming. They include Charlotte Stewart, who played Miss Beadle; two of Michael Landon‘s (Charles “Pa” Ingalls) kids, Michael Landon Jr. and Leslie Landon Matthews; Karen Grassle, who played Caroline “Ma” Ingalls; and Wendi Turnbaugh, who played Laura’s youngest sister, Grace Ingalls.
Fans were thrilled about the upcoming Little House on the Prairie documentary film, as one Instagram user declared, “Can’t wait. Little house forever ❤️.”
Another exclaimed, “Omg can’t wait!”
Someone else echoed, “Can’t wait!!!”
Meanwhile, yet another fan commented, “LHOTP is THE greatest TV production ever. From producing, to cinematography, to script, to acting, and on, Little House was a series that transcended the television screen, and enlivened our souls. Family, community, love, forgiveness, and on.”
