Little House on the Prairie fans are in for a treat this Christmas. Fans of the iconic ’70s and ’80s show, which starred Michael Landon and Melissa Gilbert, will get a chance to see many of the show’s original cast members together for an epic Little House on the Prairiereunion in Simi Valley, California.
In a video shared to his own social media accounts, the show’s Dean Butler can be seen alongside Karen Grassle, who played Caroline Ingalls – also known as “Ma.” The beloved actress is still stunning at 83, looking like not a day has passed since her time portraying the matriarch of the Ingalls family.
Standing alongside her former TV son-in-law, Grassle beamed as she and Butler announced the upcoming Little House on the Prairie cast reunion, in which both actors are scheduled to take part. Sporting short hair and her signature sweet smile, Grassle gave fans a sneak peek of the stories she might tell at the upcoming cast reunion.
In addition to panels and cast meet-and-greets, fans will have a chance to see special screenings of the brand-new Little House Homecoming documentary.

Karen Grassle: Life After ‘Little House on the Prairie’
Grassle may be known as one of TV’s most iconic moms, but the actress has had a long and storied career since the show’s end in 1983. Grassle acted in feature films like Harry’s War and Wyatt Earp. On TV, she starred in Hotel, Love Boat, and Murder, She Wrote.
‘Little Houseon the Prairie’ Reboot Coming to Netflix
Little House on the Prairie ran for nine seasons from 1974 to 1983, followed by three made-for-TV movies airing in 1983 and 1984. Now, a new adaptation of the Laura Ingalls Wilder books is in development at Netflix, which is being called a “reimagining” of Wilder’s books.
Described as a combination of a family drama and a survival story, the rebooted series has already cast actor Luke Bacey as Pa and Alice Halsy as Laura Ingalls. Actress Crosby Fitzgerald is set to step into Grassle’s shoes to portray Ma. The show is scheduled for release in 2026.

Fans can head out to Simi Valley, California, from December 12–14, 2025, at the Strathearn Historical Park.
