END-OF-SUMMER TUNES As part of Berklee College of Music’s Summer in the City concert series, singer-songwriter Macy Brassell will perform a free show at Lyrik in Back Bay. The Berklee undergrad and guitarist is the third to the final in the summer series — with fellow artists, Lilou Chance and An Tran, scheduled to perform before the season wraps in mid-September. STORIED ACCESS The Boston Athenaeum, a historic members-only library in Beacon Hill, opens its doors to the public for its fourth annual Community Day celebration. Check out the library’s two ongoing exhibits, “Wildflowers of New England” and “Exhibiting China,” as well as its special archived collections on the second floor. Musicians will perform live on each of the five floors, including the Boston-based Joe Sabourin Trio, AnovaBrazil, an Afro-Brazilian drumming ensemble, and pianist Greg Paré, the director of music at Emmanuel College. STEEL HARMONY Cambridge Carnival International presents Pan in the Park to feature live performances of steelpan music, a traditional artform with origins in Trinidad and Tobago. On Saturday, a roster of steelpan groups will perform at Pacific Park — attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, and the park is dog-friendly. Before the event, catch the Cambridge Steel Youth Orchestra and Tempo International Rhythm Section performing at Lafayette Square on Wednesday. BEE-UTFIUL BEES The Emerald Necklace Conservatory partnered with Classroom Hives, an organization dedicated to educating children about bees, to host their second annual National Honeybee Month celebration. MADE IN BOSTON The 22nd annual Boston Arts Festival will shine a light on local artist and musician communities at the downtown park, across from Faneuil Hall.
