MANCHESTER — Southern Vermont Ballet will present its 5th annual Spring Show performance, “Seasons,” on May 30 and 31.
Featuring dancers ages 5–18, the production celebrates the beauty and character of Vermont’s “six seasons” through a mix of classical and contemporary music. Students have been rehearsing weekly for this exciting showcase, which will also feature special live music with advanced music students from Burr and Burton Academy.
Performances will take place on Saturday, May 30 at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 31 at 2:00 p.m at the Arkell Theater at SVAC. Concessions and Southern Vermont Ballet merchandise will be available for purchase at the theater with cash or check. Tickets are available at southernvermontballet.com.
Now in its sixth year, Southern Vermont Ballet works with more than 220 dancers through its Spruce Street studio doors each week. Founder and Director Hayley Appelman opened the studio in Fall 2021 after teaching for more than a decade at Cobble Hill Ballet in Brooklyn, New York. Appelman has a small team of dedicated dance teachers who are all passionate about bringing this lovely art form to this community.
“I could not be prouder of our incredible dancers, this is going to be our best show yet,” said Appelman.
The studio offers 28 classes each week for dancers ages 18 months through adult, with instruction in ballet, jazz, pointe, hip-hop, modern, and lyrical dance. Southern Vermont Ballet also offers full-day summer camps filled with dancing, creative crafts, outdoor play, theater games, and team-building activities. For summer camp information, enrollment, or general inquiries, visit southernvermontballet.com or email [email protected]. Registration for the Fall 2026 semester opens June 1, 2026.
