ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Thursday’s NFL season opener has the Philadelphia Eagles at home against their dreaded rivals – the Dallas Cowboys.
One local business is busy getting ready for big crowds to cheer on the defending Super Bowl champs.
The team at Sports & Social Allentown is gearing up for a big day Thursday.
“Today, we’re getting stocked up, cutting a lot of chicken, preparing a lot of wings, getting our beers together, a lot of preparations, a lot of guac, a lot of nachos,” says Deshawn Upson, Executive Chef at Sports & Social.
In addition to the Eagles game, there’s also concerts at the PPL Center and Archer Music Hall nearby, but with so many televisions inside and so many Philly sports fans in the area, the Birds will be the main event at Sports & Social.
“We’ve actually been waiting all summer for football season to come back around cause it’s been very slow, so we’re actually looking forward to it,” says Upson
Football season is one of the busiest times of the year for the Center City spot, and the staff at Sports & Social says they’re ready to welcome in fans.
“We’re a premiere spot for the beginning and the end of all entertainment nights, so just come through,” Upson says.
