A local film production company is taking an internationally acclaimed musical and turning it into a short film.
The stage show, 52 Pickup, is about coping with trauma and how trauma affects social interactions, the body, and the brain.
It portrays a journey that finds beauty from pain.
“Well, Erie has a lot to offer. Plenty of talented individuals. It’s a beautiful location. There’s plenty of spots in Erie that you can film any sort of film. So I think using our local talent, using the area we’re given, and all the opportunities with it, it’s a prime location for filming something like this,” said Sam Ruot, a production intern at Rhoxon.
The company plans to shoot the film locally in Erie, providing a number of jobs for those interested in independent filmmaking.
