Fresh from one of the biggest periods of their career, Platinum-selling duo LOCASH are keeping the momentum going with the announcement of their new EP, ‘Let The Country Music Play,’ due for release on August 7 via their own Galaxy Label Group.
The five-track collection follows the success of ‘Bet The Farm,’ the album that delivered the duo’s biggest hit in years with ‘Hometown Home’, which became Country Aircheck/Mediabase’s No. 4 overall song of 2025. Now, Preston Brust and Chris Lucas are looking to build on that success with a project that celebrates everything fans have come to expect from LOCASH: uplifting melodies, heartfelt lyrics and an unwavering love of country music.
Leading the way is the EP’s title track, a collaboration with fellow hitmakers Parmalee that cleverly reinvents Rupert Holmes’ classic ‘Escape (The Piña Colada Song)’. Rather than simply covering the pop favourite, LOCASH transform it into a celebration of country music’s past and present, delivering a carefree anthem that feels tailor-made for summer playlists and festival stages alike.
The duo have already showcased the romantic side of the project with ‘YES’, released earlier this year, while the EP also introduces fans to its next focus track, ‘Talkin Bout’. Written by Chris Lucas, Preston Brust, Nate Kenyon and Blake Bollinger, the song is set to impact US country radio on August 24 and captures the themes running throughout the collection.
Built around references to the people, places and passions that define everyday life, ‘Talkin Bout’ celebrates hometown pride, family values and enduring love, culminating in a chorus that reminds listeners that no matter the conversation, one special person always comes to mind. It perfectly reflects the warm, optimistic spirit that has long defined LOCASH’s music.
Elsewhere, tracks including ‘I Aint Goin Nowhere’ and ‘Love Always Wins’ reinforce the duo’s commitment to songs that embrace positivity without sacrificing authenticity. Collectively, ‘Let The Country Music Play’ feels like a natural continuation of the musical identity that has earned LOCASH a devoted fanbase over the past decade while demonstrating they still have plenty left to say.
Alongside the EP’s release, LOCASH are taking the music on the road as part of their newly launched Let The Country Music Play Tour. The North American headline run stretches through December and includes festival appearances, headline dates in major cities and even the duo’s own LOCASH Golf Bash charity event at the Hilton Head Island Jam Songwriter Festival, raising money for Lowcountry charities and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
With ‘Bet The Farm’ re-establishing the duo as one of country’s most consistent hitmakers and ‘Hometown Home’ becoming one of the defining songs of 2025, ‘Let The Country Music Play’ arrives at the perfect moment. Rather than reinventing themselves, Preston Brust and Chris Lucas are leaning into the feel-good songwriting, infectious hooks and relatable storytelling that have made them fan favourites, delivering another collection designed to soundtrack long summer nights and country music celebrations.
