Platinum-selling country duo Locash has partnered with manager Skip Bishop and Canadian country artist turned entrepreneur Shane Harluk to launch Music City Power Company, a new artist development and music marketing hub. Made up of career artists, songwriters, and trusted executives, the team will handle A&R, creative direction, distribution, marketing, and radio, building bespoke campaigns from the ground up to amplify each client’s creative vision.
Headquartered in Nashville, the company maintains influence across every layer of the Music City business, while Calgary-based Harluk leads operations in Canada, giving the venture international reach right out of the gate.
Music City Power Company emerges as a natural extension of Galaxy Label Group, which Locash’s Preston Brust and Chris Lucas officially founded in 2024. Bishop has managed the duo since 2023, while Harluk brings a longstanding friendship with the pair into the partnership. Bishop described the launch as bringing together the best of the best in the industry, offering the kind of modern, focused expertise independent artists need right now.
Leading the charge, Galaxy Label Group and Music City Power Company have appointed Mara Sidweber to a dual role as VP Promotion and Strategy for Music City Power Company and National Promotion for Galaxy Label Group, reporting directly to Bishop. Sidweber spent twelve years at Capitol Records Nashville and four years leading marketing and radio promotion at Southern Ground Artists, building campaigns for artists including Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Little Big Town, Lady A, Darius Rucker, and Jon Pardi, and helping drive 61 number one records over her career.
Locash released their first album under the Galaxy Label Group banner, ‘Bet The Farm,’ last year, scoring a multi-week number one hit with “Hometown Home,” the label’s first chart-topper. Bishop’s own career includes serving as Senior Vice President of Promotion at Sony Music Nashville, along with executive roles at RCA Records and MCA Records, and running his own marketing firm, Bishop Bait and Tackle, before joining Locash and Galaxy Label Group.
