The follow-up to Los Thuthanaka’s thrilling self-titled debut is coming sooner than we think. Over the weekend, the duo’s Chuquimamani-Condori went on the Nashville public radio station WNXP to announce that they and their brother Joshua Chuquimia Crampton will release a new Los Thuthanaka project April 3. That’s this Friday.

The release is titled Waq’a and it’ll be a three-song collection of audio as well as a PDF booklet printed in the Aymara language. Chuquimamani-Condori said that two of its songs are about the creation of the sun, and one song is about its implied ending.

Chuquimamani-Condori previewed some of the unreleased music during the radio appearance, which you can listen to in full here. In an accompanying DJ set, Chuquimamani-Condori played an eclectic mix of American singer-songwriters like Bob Seger, Jason Aldean, and Vince Gill, along with Andean folk artists like Picaflor de los Andes, Los Walys, and Grupo Juventud.

Waq’a is out 3/3.
