Recent Love Island winner and social media star Cach Mercer will join the cast of Strictly Come Dancing 2026.
Mercer said: “I have grown up watching the show with my family and am so excited to now be part of the cast.
“Dancing is a huge passion of mine, and I can’t wait to learn Ballroom and do the Foxtrot for the first time.”
He joins a line-up that already includes Lacey Turner, Dani Dyer, and Delta Goodrem.
Fellow celebrities and Strictly fans have taken to social media to share their excitement about the announcement.
Strictly professional dancer Dianna Buswell posted: “Exciting times welcome.”
Comedian and presenter Eddie Kadi, who appeared on I’m a Celebrity in 2025, said: “GET IN!!!!”
Megan Forte Clarke, who appeared in the same series of Love Island as Mercher, commented: “Omg @cacherel_ LOVE THIS.”
Who is Cach Mercer?
Mercer rose to fame on the 2025 series of Love Island, where he won the public vote to become the male winner.
He has also built a large following on TikTok, with nearly 50 million likes for his videos featuring Afrobeat, hip-hop and street dance routines.
Away from social media, he works as a model, DJ, and serves as an ambassador for a young person’s mental health charity.

Four other celebrities have already been confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing 2026:

They will be joined on the show by new hosts Johannes Radebe, Emma Willis, and Josh Widdicombe, who take over from Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly.
Further cast announcements are expected throughout the summer ahead of the show’s return.
Strictly is due to begin on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this September.
