- The forthcoming release, which is still untitled, marks the superstar’s return to Warner Records.
- Madonna is releasing a dance music album next year.
The superstar confirmed the release today, September 18th. The still-untitled LP will mark her first new album in seven years—she released her 14th studio album, Madame X. Although a tracklist for the new record remains TBA, she’ll be working with DJ Stuart Price again, the producer behind her 2005 album Confessions On A Dance Floor.
The forthcoming release also marks Madonna’s return to Warner Records, where she started her career back in 1982, after two decades away. She remained on the label’s Sire Records imprint for the first stretch of her career, eventually moving to Interscope in 2021 to release MDNA.
“From being a struggling artist in New York City to signing a record deal to release just three singles, it seemed at the time my world would never be the same again, and in fact, that couldn’t have been truer,” Madonna said in a statement. “Since the beginning, Warner Records has been a real partner with me. I am happy to be reunited and look forward to the future, making music, doing the unexpected while perhaps provoking a few needed conversations.”
Earlier this year, Madonna released a long-lost Ray Of Light remix album, Veronica Electronica, 27 years after its initial recording. The project featured edits, reworks and alternate versions of the 1998 record’s tracks from the likes of Sasha, BT, Peter Rauhofer and Victor Calderone.
