A recent viral video of a French-speaking singer’s acoustic rendition of Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” sung to a group of blissed-out tigers has fans begging for more.

The singer heard the call and is now sharing another video—viral, of course—of his acoustic performance of Guns N’ Roses’ “November Rain” sung to a group of lions. The big cats’ reaction to the lilting sounds of the singer’s voice and accompanying guitar puts the lions in an uncharacteristically calm state. So calm they look like a bunch of pussy cats by the end of his performance. Naturally, fans can’t get enough of the singer’s lovely way of connecting with the animals.

Known online as Plumes, or “the animal serenading musician,” the singer can be seen serenading a group of lions housed at the Lumingy Safari Reserve in France. The lions are at first curious as the singer shares his acoustic rendition of “November Rain.” Curiosity turns into an impromptu concert audience as the male lion first approaches the singer to get a closer listen before he is joined by the three female lions standing nearby. Eventually, the entire group lies down and calmly listens to the song’s lyrics.

“It’s really fascinating that music is a universal language,” shared one viewer, “It draws everyone in. It’s beautiful to see.”

Another added, “Just beautiful. Thank you.”

Who Is Plumes, the Animal Serenading Musician?

Loris Assadian, known to social media fans as Plumes, travels the world with his pink guitar in hand serenading animals. What started as an experiment in the French countryside to see if cows enjoy music has turned into a lifelong passion to spread empathy and awareness of animal welfare. Having read an article that revealed cows respond to music, the guitar player decided to test out the theory. Not only did the cows circle around him to listen to his songs, they rubbed up against his guitar in a moment the Frenchman describes as “magical.”

Since then, the guitar player has traveled the world serenading lions, tigers, giraffes, elephants, monkeys, and more. The animals have mostly responded with curiosity and appear to be visibly calmed as they take in his tunes.
