Actor Jesse Eisenberg will be donating one of his kidneys to a stranger, the movie star announced on Thursday.
Eisenberg announced his intention to donate one of his kidneys on NBC’s “Today”, where he was praised by co-host Craig Melvin for being a fan of blood drives.
“Yeah that’s true,” Eisenberg said. “I’m actually donating my kidney in six weeks. I really am… I’m so excited to do it.”
The actor, who is known for his portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg in “The Social Network‚” said in a separate interview on TODAY.com it’s a “no brainer” to donate his kidney.

“It’s essentially risk-free and so needed,” Eisenberg said. “I think people will realize that it’s a no-brainer, if you have the time and the inclination.”
The 42-year-old is starring in “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t,” the third film in the “Now You See Me” series. The film is scheduled for release on Nov. 14. and also features Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman and Mark Ruffalo.
