Actor Malhar Thakar has joined the growing list of celebrities mourning the death of Bollywood icon Dharmendra, who passed away on November 24 at the age of 89.Following fellow actor Manasi Parekh Gohil’s heartfelt message earlier in the day, Thakar also expressed his grief over the actor’s demise and paid homage to the legendary star. The Gujarati actor took to his Instagram handle to share a vintage photograph of Dharmendra, and honoured his enduring legacy and impact on Indian cinema.
Dharmendra’s health journey
Dharmendra, fondly known as the ‘He-Man of Indian Cinema’, took ill early this month. On November 10, he was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital after experiencing breathing issues. After a couple of days of treatment, he was discharged and taken home and reportedly responding well.
Last rites held in Mumbai
Dharmendra’s final rites were performed at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle. Several Bollywood celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Akshay Kumar, arrived to pay their last respects. His family, Hema Malini, Prakash Kaur, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Esha Deol, and Ahana Deol were all present.
