CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A Fairfield man is accused of throwing fireworks at two people who are homeless in Camp Washington last year.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich said the victims had found shelter under a drive-thru at an abandoned bank building on Colerain Avenue in Aug. 2024.
The pair had been sleeping when Pillich says Charles Mitchell, 22, of Fairfield threw a canister-shell firework at them “for his own entertainment.” They weren’t hurt.
Mitchell faces two counts of aggravated arson. He was arrested on Sept. 15 and indicted on Sept. 24. He faces up to 22 years in prison, if he’s convicted.
Mitchell is held on $30,000 bond.
