Mandy Moore is giving more insight into her relationship with Hilary Duff, sharing she was able to “lean on her” during her first pregnancy.
In a clip shared exclusively with PEOPLE from the upcoming episode of Amanda Hirsch’s Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, the This Is Us actress, 42, opens up about her tight-knit relationship with the Luck… or Something singer, 38. Moore, who’s a mom to Louise “Lou”, 21 months, Oscar “Ozzie”, 3, and August “Gus”, 5, tells host Amanda Hirsch that she was able to “lean on” Duff during her first pregnancy.
“We went through — she went through her third pregnancy, and I went through my first pregnancy — like together. And so, like I really was able to immediately lean on her,” she recalls. “Like you’ve done this twice before, you’re on your third. Like, tell me all the things.”
The Breadwinner actress goes on to praise Duff, who’s a mom of four, for opening her home and initiating baby classes with fellow new moms, saying the different classes and outdoor outings were “so much fun.”
“She was the one that welcomed in all these other new moms during the pandemic to a baby class at her house,” Moore says. “We started with like baby music class when our kids were like little blobs just lying on the grass. It was so much fun.”
The doting mom adds, “I have become a mom with her and she’s the best.”
The clip ended with Moore reemphasizing how much she and Duff really leaned on each other during one of the world’s most challenging times.
“It was feeling incredibly confusing and scary to be like pregnant during that strange time that gave us all PTSD,” she says.

Back in February, while speaking to Glamour for a cover story on Duff, Moore shared some insight into the pair’s friendship.
She spoke about the pair’s close friendship. The two grew close after a chance meeting in 2018, and Moore told the outlet that she feels fortunate her kids get to spend time around Duff and her family.
“I feel exceedingly lucky that my kids happen to spend time with people that I feel like our values are aligned with,” said Moore. “The friends that I’ve made since becoming a parent are some of the deeper, more surprising friendships I’ve found as an adult.”
