Mandy Moore’s onscreen daughters treated her to a nostalgic performance of her 1999 song “Candy.”
“The girls had been planning this for a while and couldn’t wait to finally perform it for her,” Charlotte Tucker’s Instagram caption read.
The Breadwinner will be available to stream on Prime Video starting July 13.
Mandy Moore got a sweet treat from her Breadwinner movie daughters.
Actresses Stella Grace Fitzgerald, Birdie Borria, and Charlotte Ann Tucker teamed up together to perform Moore’s 1999 hit song “Candy” for her, complete with choreography and pieces of candy on the ground. Moore was all smiles watching the trio bust a move.
“When your movie mom is Mandy Moore… there’s really only one option—surprise her with a dance to ‘Candy,'” Tucker, whose account is managed by her parents, captioned the Instagram video shared on July 8.
“The girls had been planning this for a while and couldn’t wait to finally perform it for her,” the caption continued. “Safe to say she was the best sport, and her reaction was even sweeter.”
Tucker added, “One of those fun behind-the-scenes moments that reminds me how lucky Charlotte is to work alongside such talented (and genuinely kind) people. And special thanks to Tommy for opening up the performance.”
After the performance, Moore clapped and embraced the girls in a group hug. “Oh my goodness!” she shouted. “You guys are way better dancers than I’ve ever been in my entire life. That is so impressive.”
“Candy” launched Moore’s music career in 1999 when she was 15, peaking at No. 41 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was certified gold that November after selling over 500,000 copies. Her follow-up single, “I Wanna Be With You,” released in 2000 and peaked at No. 24.

Moore went on to act in several movies that will make any millennial feel nostalgic including The Princess Diaries (where she famously sang “Stupid Cupid”), A Walk to Remember and Chasing Liberty.
She voiced Rapunzel in the animated Disney film Tangled and starred in the beloved NBC drama series This Is Us.

Moore previously gushed about her Breadwinner costars in late May when the film premiered in theaters.
“Happy @breadwinnermovie day to those who celebrate. This movie was an absolute joy to be a part of and it’s truly the perfect movie to take the whole family to,” she wrote on Instagram with a series of behind-the-scenes pictures.
“Thanks @natebargatze and @erockappel (and our unbelievable Atlanta crew) for letting me join all the fun. And watch out world, @stellagracefitzgerald, @birdieborria, and @charlotte.a.tucker absolutely steal the whole show- loved being your fake mom and can’t wait to see what you all do next!! Xoxoxo”
