The second weekend of Coachella was all about cameos: Justin Bieber made Billie Eilish his “One Less Lonely Girl,” Olivia Rodrigo performed her new single during Addison Rae’s set, and Madonna joined Sabrina Carpenter onstage. But one surprise guest has gotten even more attention — across the festival grounds, PinkPantheress hosted a birthday set that had Chase Infiniti, Janelle Monáe, Tyriq Withers, Zara Larsson, and Slayyyter dancing onstage to Australian DJ Ninajirachi. You know who else was there? Katseye’s Manon Bannerman, who’s been bopping around the festival grounds during her hiatus from the global girl group.
Katseye made their Coachella debut this year, but Manon, who announced a “temporary hiatus” from the group in February, didn’t appear alongside her bandmates. Instead, during weekend one, she was spotted in the crowd of Sabrina Carpenter’s set and at Justin Bieber’s after-party. A week later, it seems like she made it onstage — just not with Katseye.
It’s unclear when (or if?) Manon will perform again with Katseye — she last updated fans that she’s been having “positive conversations” with the group’s label, HYBE x Geffen — but that wasn’t going to stop her from making her own Coachella stage debut. Maybe she’ll get arrested at Sabrina Carpenter’s show next?
