“Mardi Gras In Memphis” is back in the Bluff City in 2026.
The three-day cultural celebration — a collaboration between public leadership, local businesses and community organizations — is set for Feb. 6-8 and promises “citywide activations, live entertainment, and community-driven experiences that spotlight Memphis’ vibrant culture, music, and community pride.”
The events kick off Feb. 6 with a Mardi Glow Bar Crawl, held in and around Downtown and Beale Street. On Feb. 7, a parade and block party in the Beale Street Entertainment District will feature bands, celebrity performances and family-friendly fun. The parade starts at noon.
“Mardi Gras In Memphis” will also include a grand finale Super Bowl Party on Feb. 8, with a tailgate event at Fat Tuesday, 8 S. Main, and a watch party at The Columns, 45 S. Second.
As part of the festivities, “Mardi Gras In Memphis” has crowned Grammy-nominated hip-hop producer Jazze Pha as King and state Sen. London Lamar as Queen of the festival.
The Memphis-born, Atlanta-based Jazze Pha — the son of Bar-Kays co-founder James Alexander — is a known for founding Sho’nuff Records and producing chart-topping singles in rap and pop.
“My heart has always been in Memphis and I’m looking forward to celebrating with the city,” he said in a statement. “I’m excited about this new energy in my hometown.”
The 2025 Mardi Gras court featured NBA Champion and Memphis legend Tony Allen and celebrated restaurateur Paula Raiford as King and Queen.
“This weekend is a celebration of what makes Memphis special — our culture, our music, and the pride we carry for our city,” Lamar said in a statement. “I’m excited to stand alongside Jazze Pha, support the bands and local talent, and welcome families from across the Mid-South to experience Mardi Gras with a Memphis twist.”
Feb. 8’s Super Bowl events, dubbed “The Big Party,” will be hosted by a lineup of football stars, led by NFL Pro Bowler and “Dancing With the Stars: Athletes” runner-up Josh Norman and Idrees Bashir, who played for the Memphis Tigers and in the NFL.
