Margaret Qualley is one of a long list of celebrities who presumably got an invitation to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding spectacle at Madison Square Garden last week — as the plus-one of her musician husband, Jack Antonoff, who also is Swift’s famed producer pal.
But the 31-year-old Qualley was a no-show at the 1,000-person wedding of the year on the eve of the Fourth of July. And, on Wednesday fans learned why. People has reported that Qualley and Antonoff, 42, have separated after nearly three years of marriage.

A source confirmed to People that the couple’s relationship is “rocky,” while a second insider said that the actor and the Bleachers frontman are “figuring things out.”
Rumors began to swirl that the marriage was in trouble after Antonoff instead brought his fashion designer sister, Rachel Antonoff, to the wedding instead of his wife. The Daily Mail, TMZ and other outlets also reported that Qualley had recently scrubbed photos from their 2023 wedding from social media. In March, Qualley posted photos from their star-studded wedding — which Swift attended — on Instagram to promote Antonoff’s new single, “Dirty Wedding Dress,” with his band Bleachers.
The song appears to reference the couple’s wedding on the New Jersey shore in August 2023, which was heavily covered in the tabloids. In retrospect, they lyrics don’t sound so uplifting: “So we got married that august and the neighbors all lost their minds/We had to board up all the windows and shoot out the drones/We took that sadness right from saturday night”
The Daily Mail also reported that Qualley’s most recent social media activity involving her husband was to wish him happy birthday in a March 31 Instagram Story. The post featured an image of the musician with his arm around her and the caption, “Happy birthday sweetheart.” But the post expired after 24 hours.
According to the Daily Mail, another social media clue that something could be off about the marriage was Qualley’s move in late April to change her Instagram username from @isimostar to @sarahmargaretqualley23. Qualley’s use of @isimostar appears to have been a nod to the 2024 song, “Isimo,” which Antonoff recorded with Bleachers.
Antonoff and Qualley, the daughter of “Groundhog Day” star actor Andie MacDowell, first sparked romance rumors in August 2021 when they were seen kissing on a date in Brooklyn. The pair went public with their relationship in 2022 when they attended an AFI Awards Luncheon together in support of Qualley’s Netflix series “Maid.” They revealed to People in May 2022 that they were engaged.
Their 2023 wedding guest list also included Channing Tatum, Zoë Kravitz, Cara Delevingne and Lana Del Rey.
In a recent interview on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show,” Antonoff said that he knew he would marry Qualley the “second” they first met at a party in 2021, People reported. “When I met her, I started imagining things that I’d never even imagined, like marriage,” Antonoff told Stern.
For her part, Qualley described Antonoff as “my person” in a 2023 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, shortly before their marriage, People also reported. “It’s real. It’s amazing. It’s the best feeling in the world,” Qualley said.
