The Spanish showbiz scene is once again talking about a name that once became a symbol of children’s music. María Isabel, winner of Eurovisión Junior and one of the most recognizable singers of her generation, returns with a new album, “Hora Mágica.” This release is already being called the most personal and contemporary of her career—not only because of its sound, but also thanks to her active involvement in writing most of the songs. As Divinity notes, María Isabel’s comeback has reignited discussions about how the lives of former ‘child prodigies’ evolve, and what happens when they grow up before the entire nation.

Personal growth

The focus is not only on the music, but also on the changes within María Isabel herself. After a long break during which she became a mother and stepped away from the stage, the singer admits: she now feels completely different. The new album is not just a collection of tracks, but a kind of chronicle of her coming of age. Each song corresponds to a certain stage in her life, and the album itself became a way for her to close important inner chapters. According to the artist, she no longer wants to be only ‘that very girl’ remembered for her childhood hit, but she is not renouncing her past either—she simply wants the audience to see her as she is now: real, grown-up, and independent.

Family and new roles

A special place in María Isabel’s life is held by her daughter Daliana. In an interview, the singer speaks openly for the first time about how her perspective changed after her child was born. She does not hide: if one day her daughter wants to follow in her footsteps and become a ‘girl singer’, María will not stand in the way, as long as she is sure the child will experience the same joy she did. However, the artist notes that times have changed, and today the path to fame has become more difficult due to social media and public pressure. Nevertheless, she is ready to support her daughter in any choice, but considers it her duty to be there to give advice without imposing her own expectations.

Touring and personal life

Summer promises to be busy for María Isabel: ahead is an extensive tour where the singer will perform in Seville, Madrid, Barcelona, Valladolid, and at major festivals. Interestingly, at concerts she is accompanied not only by her team but also by her family: her husband, well-known travel influencer Jesús Marchena, has become part of her creative ensemble, and her daughter will be present at some of the shows. Still, the singer admits that sometimes the girl will stay with her grandmother—for rest and the joys of a normal childhood. As for the inevitable question about the wedding that always comes up in interviews, María Isabel answers with a smile: for now, all her energy goes to music and the tour, and there is simply no time to organize a celebration.

A new chapter

Maria Isabel’s return to the stage became not only a professional challenge but also a personal one. After her temporary departure in 2021, she explains that she needed time to understand the music industry and figure out what she truly wanted. Now, she says, she feels stronger and freer than ever, and the support of her family and team has helped her believe in herself again. The singer is especially proud to release her album as an independent artist—fully controlling the creative process and not conforming to others’ expectations.

Stories about the coming of age and changes in the lives of former ‘child stars’ always spark public interest. It is no coincidence that similar topics are discussed regarding other well-known families: for example, how the father of singer Rosalía found harmony after leaving the family business. In Maria Isabel’s case, the public is watching not only how the artist returns to the stage, but also how she is rebuilding her identity—not as a ‘child prodigy,’ but as an adult woman, mother, and independent musician.
