Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay has been front and center throughout the New York Knicks’ historic run to win the NBC championship. At a recent game appearance, Hargitay brought her oldest son, August Hermann, with her. He was by her side again as New York celebrated the team’s big win.
Hargitay and Hermann were spotted wearing fantastic T-shirts while attending the New York Knicks parade.
As Page Six shared, both Hargitay and Hermann wore T-shirts in the iconic Knicks blue and orange hues. Herman’s shirt had “Marknicksa Hargitay” in orange text, a shoutout to his mom and her frequently mispronounced name.
Hargitay’s shirt read “Brilliant Thing #11 The Knicks.” She added orange pants and white heels to round out her Knicks-inspired ensemble. Hargitay also wore a white denim jacket at times.
The wording on Hargitay’s T-shirt was a dual shoutout. Her favorite Knicks player is Jalen Brunson, and the number 11 is his jersey number. As for “Brilliant Thing,” that was a reference to Hargitay’s current project, a starring role in Broadway’s Every Brilliant Thing.
Both the NBA TikTok account and ESPN’s TikTok page shared glimpses of Hargitay and Hermann celebrating with Brunson during the parade.
They both were spotted on Brunson’s parade float, and at another point, they posed with Brunson and the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.
After Game 4 of the NBC Finals, which Hargitay attended, she told The Hollywood Reporter what it took for her to get to the game on time.
That day, she had to perform two shows of the Every Brilliant Thing production first. However, she was determined to get to Madison Square Garden for the start of the game, as well.
“I took four minutes off the running time of my show, and I knew the traffic would be crazy, so I sprinted from the Hudson Theater on 44th and 6th to MSG,” she explained.
Hargitay admitted, “I’m not gonna lie, the ten-block sprint after a 2-show day was no joke.”
There were other high-profile celebrities present at the games and the parade, as well, like Timothée Chalamet and Ben Stiller. All of the celebrity fans had a blast, but it was clear that Margitay and her son were on Cloud 9 as they embraced the iconic celebratory experience.
