Weeks after David Del Rio was fired from CBS’ Matlock due to sexual assault allegations, the actor is meeting legal professionals to plan his next course of action
David Del Rio is lawyering up after being fired from CBS.
Over the past couple of months, the 38-year-old actor has been filming the second season of the hit drama series Matlock. A source has revealed that David was abruptly fired from the project just after the production company heard about allegations regarding the actor allegedly sexually assaulting his co-star, Leah Lewis, 28.
In the midst of production, the actor was allegedly escorted off the set in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Oct. 8. Matlock’s executive producer, Eric Christian Olsen, was allegedly among the group of people who led him off the property.

As CBS performs further investigation into the matter, David is allegedly meeting with lawyers to plan his next course of action and tell his side of the story.
According to TMZ, the actor, his wife Katherine Del Rio, and his team have been in constant communication with legal professionals since his firing occurred.
A source previously shared that his co-star filed the allegation on Oct. 2, a few days before he was kicked off the Paramount lot. She reportedly claimed the incident occurred on Sept. 26 at the filming location.
The LAPD told the publication there was no record of an assault report filed on that date of location.
After the news of the allegations spread quickly, the actress took to her Instagram Story to share a photo of her hugging her mother, along with a caption that read, “Mom is here, we’re moving forward in love and strength. I’m in good hands. Thank you to everybody for any kind of support and care. Truly, we’re moving forward in strength. Key word, strength. Please, let that be the take away.”
While David has remained silent, his wife has not. After Leah’s post, Katherine used the actress’ photo on her own story and wrote, “the most disturbing human being I have ever met.”
Deadline has revealed filming has continued after the actor’s firing.
The incident came just days before the show is set to go on a pre-planned hiatus. Production is set to resume after Thanksgiving. During the break, Matlock’s writers are reportedly planning a course of action on how to rework the scripts to write his character off.
The Kathy Bates-led series is a reboot of the 1986 show Matlock, which starred Andy Griffith and Nancy Stafford.
David played Billy Martinez, a first-year associate at Jacobson Moore, on the drama show. As for the alleged victim, Leah plays another lawyer named Sarah Franklin, who is frequently seen on screen with the actor’s character.
