“You are Silence” follows lead single “Astral Echoes”, and also arrives alongside the announcement of a UK/EU tour. Speaking about the new track, the band share: “‘You are Silence’ was written during Japan’s midsummer season of Obon, when it is believed that the spirits of our ancestors return to visit us for a few precious days each year. While writing this song, I imagined what it would feel like to watch over someone I love if I were one of those spirits. It’s a love song, told from the perspective of the dead.”
Following the album’s release, maya ongaku will be heading to the United Kingdom to kick off their tour, beginning on 9 September in Todmorden. This will continue through Manchester (10 September) and London (11 September) at MOTH Club before they embark on a European run which will include stops in Berlin, Madrid, Lisbon, and more.
