Prince Harry could be joined by Meghan Markle on a visit to the UK to attend the one-year countdown event for the 2027 Invictus Games in early July. The couple, who now reside in California, have not made a joint visit to the UK since September 2022.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams has shared that he thinks Meghan will join Harry in the UK this summer, but added that the couple will face humiliating the Sussex brand if she decides against the visit.
The expert also added that Meghan will likely only attend if their police protection is reinstated – and the couple could bring their children with them.
He told the Daily Express: “Harry firstly needs to ensure he has the police protection for him and his family if and when they visit the UK that he has fought for and which is expected to be granted soon by Ravec, the Home Office Committee who decide.
“Then there is an obvious opportunity to bring the family over when Invictus celebrate “One Year To Go” in Birmingham in July.
“Will Meghan come, the likelihood surely is that she will attend the opening with Harry and that Archie and Lilibet will accompany her which will ease her passage.”

He added: “She knows how unpopular she is with both the public and the press in Britain. However, it would be a humiliation for the Sussexes if Meghan did not attend both the One Year to Go event and the opening.”
The Risk Management Board is conducting a full assessment, with its conclusions to be submitted to the Royal and VIP Executive Committee, known as Ravec.
A decision on Harry’s automatic security protection while in the UK, will be revealed soon.
