Meghan Markle accused of ‘monetizing’ royal connections after move to Hollywood

Meghan Markle has been accused of “monetizing” her royal marriage to Prince Harry following the couple’s departure from the UK to Hollywood.

On Piers Morgan’s YouTube show Uncensored, Morgan pressed former BBC journalist Tom Bower on the pair’s relationship, with the conversation quickly turning contentious as the Duchess of Sussex faced claims of “capitalizing” on her ties to the Royal Family.

Morgan asked: “Is this marriage going to survive?” to which Bower responded: “Yes, because they need each other. I’ve never believed the divorce theory. But this whole point about bringing them back is no-one trusts them! It was Meghan who lied about the whole marriage, about the whole way she was treated. It was her absolute dishonesty and always her intention to go back to Hollywood and capitalize on it, monetize it.”

He continued: “All her interviews, all her stuff has been to destroy the very thing that [some] say should now welcome her back. The last thing we should do is welcome Meghan back,” reports the Express.

Morgan then fumed: “They made their bed in Montecito, get on with it.

“The thing that gets my goat most is when they go on these ‘royal tours’, like they’re still members of the family doing their royal duties! They’re not! They’re doing it for personal gain!”

Morgan demanded that Harry and Meghan be stripped of their titles, accusing the couple of “commercializing” the Sussex name and transforming it into a personal brand – noting that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor had previously had his titles removed, proving it was entirely possible.

“I strongly suspect that if Prince William was on the throne, those titles would be removed,” he said.

Prince Harry traveled to the U.K. this week to promote the Invictus Games 2027. He was speculated to be traveling with Meghan and their two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lillibet, 5, but ended up traveling alone.
