The next Invictus Games are taking place in England, which means Prince Harry is returning to his home country—and he might take Meghan Markle and their two kids along for the ride. Travel decisions depend on whether or not Harry wins back tax payer-funded security, but assuming the Sussexes do make the trip, security will be extreme.
According to a source who spoke to Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop, Meghan “will not step foot in Britain without full protection—police escorts, secured venues, no risks—period,” which, understandable!
Arrangements allegedly include “24/7 drivers, a fleet of luxury cars, and a police escort from the airport straight to the hotel” with a source saying “This isn’t just protection. She’s asking for a fortress. Bulletproof glass at the Games, armed security everywhere she goes.”
While ShuterScoop suggests the Sussexes will be staying at a hotel, there are reports that King Charles has offered them a pretty big olive branch: use of his beloved country home, Highgrove House. But TBD on if Meghan and Harry will take him up on the offer.
Meanwhile, a source recently told The Times of speculation about Meghan making the trip, “I think she would come back with him [and the children]. They love to do stuff as a family whenever they can, and when they do things as a couple philanthropically, they often do take the kids along privately. I can’t see a reason why he’d come over with the kids without her.”
