Meghan Markle has been nominated for a prestigious podcast award, despite ending her show to concentrate on her lifestyle brand.
The Duchess of Sussex launched her second podcast series this year, Confessions of a Female Founder, which features conversations with female entrepreneurs and friends discussing their industries.
Confessions of a Female Founder, distributed by Lemonada Media, is now in the running at the 4th Annual Signal Awards in the Business & Culture category. Lemonada Media shared the exciting news on its Instagram page. The announcement comes as Meghan has made a huge change regarding her children.
“We’ve been nominated for THREE @signalawards. Best Host: @hasanminhaj for Hasan Minhaj Doesn’t Know (@HMDK). Business & Culture: Confessions of a Female Founder with @meghan. Self-Improvement: My So-Called Midlife with @reshmasaujani,” Lemonada Media wrote as they shared the news.
The organization added, “It’s an honor to be recognized, and now we need your support. Cast your vote and help us take these awards home. Every vote matters.”
The podcast series, which premiered in April, featured Meghan engaging in candid discussions with fellow business founders and friends about the triumphs and trials of launching their own businesses across nine episodes.
Guests included Whitney Wolfe Herd of Bumble, Reshma Saujani of Girls Who Code, Kadi Lee of Highbrow Hippie, Jamie Kern Lima of IT Cosmetics, Hannah Mendoza of Clevr Blends, Heather Hasson of FIGS, Cassandra Morales Thurswell of Kitsch, Sara Blakely of SPANX and Tina Knowles of Cécred.
Despite the nomination, Confessions of a Female Founder received harsh criticism when it was released.
The Telegraph awarded the series two stars out of five and labeled it “insane,” while The Guardian also gave the show two stars out of five, describing it as “stomach-turning” and “a bit much.”

The Times scored it one star out of five, claiming it is filled with Meghan’s “self love,” noting that “it’s a research exercise for her new app. Meghan, after all, is a world expert in self-love.”
Earlier this summer, the Duchess explained that the podcast is on hiatus so she can continue concentrating on her brand As Ever and her Netflix show With Love, Meghan.
She explained, “I would love to bring the show back when I am at a different end of my founder journey, when I’ve gone through Q4 and say, ‘Here are my proof points. Here’s this. Wow. What a year it’s been.’
“Or even longer than that. I think a different time will be so exciting just to be able to compare and contrast.
“But yeah, I know people, I know people want another one. I just made a choice to say it’s a really good time to make, to put all of my energy into the thing that I’m building.”
The Duchess had previously presented another podcast series on Spotify, called Archetypes, which aired for 12 episodes before the couple’s contract with the streaming platform concluded.
It showcased Meghan informally speaking with various A-listers about the stereotypes targeting women.
