Meghan Markle’s As Ever brand has announced two new products that will become available in time for Mother’s Day in the US, and they are inspired by her children. In the products’ descriptions, Archie and Lilibet’s royal titles are used to describe the products, which will cost $64 (around £47.36). The products, part of the wider Mother’s Day collection, will be available on April 22, with Mother’s Day falling on Sunday, May 10, in America.
One of the scented candles, the Signature Candle No. 604, is inspired by Lilibet’s June 4 birthday, with “Princess Lilibet of Sussex’s Birthdate” in the description. It is described as a “light, floral scent inspired by Princess Lilibet of Sussex’s birthdate, adding a sense of brightness and openness to the home”.
Meanwhile, the Signature Candle No. 506 is inspired by “Prince Archie of Sussex’s Birthdate”. The product description calls it a “warm, comforting scent inspired by Prince Archie of Sussex’s birthdate, bringing a soft, familiar ease into the room”.
“This candle is inspired by Meghan’s son, Prince Archie,” a press release reads.
Meghan previously explained in an interview with People why the whole family uses the Sussex name, even though she and Harry are no longer working royals. She said: “It’s our shared name as a family, and I guess I hadn’t recognised how meaningful that would be to me until we had children.
“I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together. It means a lot to me.”
She addressed the name again during an episode of her Netflix show, With Love, when guest Mindy Kaling called her Meghan Markle.
“You have kids, and you go, ’No, I share my name with my children.’ And that feels so…I didn’t know how meaningful it would be, but it just means so much to go, ‘This is our family name, our little family name.’,” she said.
