The couple have travelled to Amman following an invitation from Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of the World Health Organisation. Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, paid a visit to a hospital in Amman where they met with children evacuated for medical reasons from Gaza, ravaged by more than two years of war between Israel and Hamas. In a sweet moment during the visit, Meghan was seen kneeling by one young girl’s bedside to offer her comfort and attention.
After seeing the heartwarming moment, royal fans took to X to criticise Meghan for not visiting the hospital, despite not having visited her own father following his emergency surgery at the start of December.
One royal fan said that the decision to visit the hospital this week was a “new low” for the former working royal, although Sussex fans replied to defend Meghan.
They reflected on Thomas Markle’s staged paparazzi pictures taken shortly before his daughter’s wedding in 2018, which led to their estrangement.
One fan commented: “She is estranged from her toxic father. Do you not understand estrangement?”
Another said: “He repeatedly sold her out to the press. He’s toxic.”
A third added: “Refugees didn’t sell stories about her to the press. That was [Thomas] Markle Snr and his awful skids, her step family.”
A fourth added: “Her father disrespected her.”
