Meghan Markle has given a surprising nod to her time in England in a new post she shared on social media. The Duchess of Sussex took to her brand, As Ever’s, social media account to post a new carousel of photos.
As Ever’s new post featured a new picture of the Duchess arranging flowers while wearing a cream knitted jumper, lighting up a candle and the brand’s lemon and ginger tea and sage honey jars. It was accompanied by the message: “This is your sign to put the kettle on.”
The phrase is widely used in the UK; however, less so in America.
It’s not the first time Meghan has referenced her time living in England with her brand.
During the launch of the first collection last April, the Duchess included a shortbread “cookie mix” with flower sprinkles.
In a newsletter sent to her As Ever followers, Meghan said: “Crunchy and delicious shortbread cookies that remind me of my time in England, with tiny flower sprinkles to add extra beauty and charm to enjoy each delicate bite.”
The product is currently sold out and is no longer available for purchase online.
It comes as a glitch on the As Ever website recently revealed the brand’s plans to expand globally, according to insiders.
The glitch appeared to show the remaining products available for sale when a considerably larger number was added to the basket.
While some people mocked the Duchess for the large number of stock left, a source claimed the numbers reveal the business’s big next move.
A source with inside knowledge of the business and close to As Ever told the Daily Express that the recent glitch just proved how successful As Ever has been as a brand, and that the Duchess managed to sell nearly 90% of her original stock.
