Meghan Markle recreated her lemon elderflower wedding cake for her eighth wedding anniversary on Tuesday. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex marked eight years of marriage, having tied the knot on May 19, 2018.
Taking to Instagram, Meghan shared a post of Harry walking into the shot with the beautifully decorated cake. Marking their parents’ special day, seven-year-old Prince Archie and four-year-old Princess Lilibet can be heard in the background wishing their “mama and papa” a happy anniversary.
The couple had a layered sponge of the same flavour, made by London bakery owner Claire Ptak on their wedding day.
To mark their anniversary yesterday, Meghan posted two separate posts with numerous pictures from their wedding day.
The posts were shared as the clock struck midnight on May 19 in California, which was 8am UK time.
The first post, which contained the mistake, showed 12 pictures of the couple on the dance floor.
The second post showed 12 pictures from their wedding day, including a few from the venue, guests in attendance and the singer Sir Elton John.
The couple’s wedding took place at St George’s Chapel in Windsor and was attended by members of the Royal Family.
Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior working royals in early 2020, with them moving to the US just weeks after, with their son.
Their daughter was born after their move to the US, joining the family in June 2021.
