Meghan Markle has come under fire on social media following the release of a new promotional video for her lifestyle venture As Ever, with critics lambasting the Duchess of Sussex for what they perceive as an excessively refined and “cringe” presentation.
The footage, prominently displayed on the brand’s website landing page, presents a carefully crafted, film-like portrayal of the As Ever universe.
The Instagram video features dreamy garden scenes, intimate shots of produce and blooms, and Meghan Markle herself creating and sampling items from the collection, including preserves and condiments.
The promotional material spotlighted merchandise currently offered through As Ever, encompassing fruit preserves, tea selections, and scented candles.
Throughout the footage, Meghan wore a succession of minimalist, earth-toned ensembles, ranging from relaxed denim to a full-length white dress paired with a white jacket.
In a collaborative post from Meghan and the brand, the description states: “Welcome to the World of As ever.
“What began with fruit from Meghan’s garden, simmered into preserves in her home kitchen, has inspired our curated collections to bring surprise and delight to your everyday.”
Nancy from TWiN TALK W/ The Sidley Twins YouTube channel, which discusses pop culture, royal, and breaking news, wrote on X (formerly Twitter) about the video: “There’s no way she’s being serious.”
Another user called Hanz from Fashionista Era, who comments on fashion and entertainment news, added: “Another cringe performance by Meghan.
“The editing was professional this time. The clothing is her usual neutrals, which makes it feel dull and boring. I think she’s either soft-launching her fashion line on the website or doing a collab. Get ready, looks like next reinvention.”
Another X post was more direct, declaring: “The more she tries to look authentic, the more she fails.”
Yet others rallied behind the Duchess and applauded the video’s aesthetic approach. Fans called Meghan “absolutely stunning,” while another commenter praised the overall presentation as “very beautiful.”
The As Ever brand, which debuted in 2025, markets itself as a curated lifestyle label featuring home goods, food products, and seasonal collections. Its visual branding emphasizes natural imagery, domestic environments, and a soft luxury aesthetic.
In March, it was revealed that Meghan Markle‘s lifestyle brand had officially terminated its collaboration with Netflix.
