However, it is now suggested that the mother of two’s appearance at Paris Fashion Week is part of an “Establishment plot” – dubbed “Project Thaw” – aimed at “warming up” the Duke and Duchess’s icy relationships with the rest of the Royal Family and the British public.
A friend of the California-based couple stated: “This trip is all part of the ‘thaw’ process.”, reports the Mirror. Rumors swirled last summer about Harry and Meghan’s potential return to The Firm, despite Harry’s emotional BBC interview in May where he said: “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.”
However, it appears the situation may have shifted for the couple, who no longer receive state security during UK visits, and Royal insiders believe Meghan’s presence at Paris Fashion Week signals this change. The friend told the Daily Mail: “Meghan will return to Britain before the year is out,” adding humorously that the former actress will be “bearing humble pie.”
While in Paris, Meghan attended the Balenciaga show, reportedly to support Pierpaolo Piccioli, who recently took over as Creative Director for the House. Dame Anna, 75, lauded Meghan’s chic all-white outfit at the event, calling it “beautiful” and “amazing”.
This appearance was caught on video and has since been widely shared on social media, believed to contribute positively to “Project Thaw”.
