Looks like Meghan Markle is making her triumphant return to acting! The Sun broke the news that the Duchess of Sussex has joined the cast of Close Personal Friends—alongside Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Henry Golding, and Jack Quaid.
Meghan was spotted on set in Pasadena on November 5, and is reportedly playing herself.
Per a studio source who chatted with The Sun, “This is a massive moment for Meghan and signifies a return to doing what she truly loves. She has been swamped with offers but this one felt right. It is Meghan’s way of gently putting her toe back in the water and seeing how she enjoys being back on set. Everyone involved is super-excited, and have been sworn to secrecy about her involvement. Prince Harry is, of course, really supportive and quite simply wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy.”
Meanwhile, People spoke to another insider who spent time with Meghan on set, saying “Meghan was on the set today. She seemed very relaxed and happy. She introduced herself to everyone and was very sweet and down-to-earth.”
Meghan’s role in the film is said to be small, but this is her first return to acting since Suits. She stepped back from the industry after she and Prince Harry got engaged, and returned to television in her lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan.
