Meghan Markle suffered an embarrassing setback after reports emerged that her wellness retreat had failed to sell out.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, is scheduled to host a women-only retreat at a five-star hotel at Coogee Beach in Sydney between April 17 and 19.
The event, organized by Her Best Life podcast, promises attendees yoga, sound healing, meditation, a psychologist-led session, and a disco evening.
A total of 300 tickets are available, priced from $2,699 (£1,400) per person. However, numerous tickets remain unsold, according to Radar.
Sky News Australia host Danica De Giorgio revealed that in response, organizers have reportedly contacted attendees and offered them the opportunity to bring a friend. “It seems like desperation,” she told UK barrister and broadcaster Andrew Eborn.
“”Then they get another one saying, well, go on then, another 24 hours, and if you want to bring a friend, you’re very welcome to bring a friend as well, which would suggest they probably haven’t sold out,” reports the Express.A number of people have put themselves on a waitlist … one particular person put themself down for a laugh,” he said, disclosing that one person had registered her name but never confirmed or paid any money.
Eborn continued: “They’ve now been receiving a number of emails saying we can only hold your place for 24 hours.

He noted that attendees will certainly need the relaxation the retreat offers if they’re parting with more than $2,000 to be there. Danica added: “We’re in the middle of a cost of living and fuel crisis here in Australia so I’m not exactly sure how many people are forking out that sort of money to go and hear Meghan speak and to have a group photo with her.”
Meghan’s retreat is scheduled to coincide with her visit to Australia alongside Prince Harry, marking the couple’s first return to the country since their debut royal tour in 2018.
The 16-day tour that October represented the pair’s first major international trip as newlyweds.
Yet their forthcoming visit has already generated significant backlash, with a number of Australians launching a petition demanding that public funds not be allocated to support the trip.
“I am excited about them coming Down Under because I want to know what they’re going to be down. Are we, as the Aussie taxpayers, going to be forking out money to look after them and for security details?” Danica pondered. “Stay tuned. In a couple of weeks we’ll be able to give our viewers the details on all of that.”
