Meghan Markle reportedly has seven strict requirements for nannies applying to look after Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The 44-year-old has previously referred to herself as a “working mother”, and is known to have help with looking after her two young children.
As reported by RadarOnline, there are seven requirements that any potential nannies have to match in order to secure the role of caring for six-year-old Archie and four-year-old Lilibet. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are known for being extremely protective when it comes to their children, who they welcomed in 2019 and 2021. The publication states that applicants must have a college degree and a minimum of five years’ experience.
It also states that applicants must live 20 minutes or less from the couple’s mansion in Montecito, sign a no-cell-phones-while-driving pledge, have a CPR certification, be a competent swimmer and preferably speak Spanish or French.
It has previously been reported that there is only person in their life that Meghan feels completely comfortable looking after Archie and Lilibet.
A source previously said: “Meghan feels much more comfortable with the children under her mother’s watchful eye and Harry was very keen to keep it [childcare] in the family.
“Both Harry and Meghan are extremely protective of their children and only stop worrying about them if Doria is in charge whenever they are away.
“Doria was instrumental in looking after Archie and Lilibet when they [Harry and Meghan] were in Nigeria and she treats them like they are her own.”
This is reportedly due to the fact Meghan and Harry had previously dismissed a night nanny after an unsettling nighttime incident with their son – something that made the pair wary of any future hires.
This incident was included in Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durrand’s book ‘Finding Freedom’, describing how Meghan and Harry let her go on her second night working for them for being “unprofessional and irresponsible”.
