Meghan Markle’s recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar has sparked a wave of criticism, especially after it was revealed that she was introduced as the Duchess of Sussex in a room with only two people.
This surprising detail left both commentators and the public puzzled, prompting podcast host Megyn Kelly to lambast Meghan on her show.
Megyn invited guest Link Lauren to discuss the matter, and in one segment, she launched into a tirade about Meghan’s apparent belief that she’s “too famous” to stay in hotels in New York.
The former Fox News host vented, “Oh, because she’s too famous to walk through a lobby, like every other actual celebrity in the world who stays in hotels just fine, like Taylor Swift, with no problem. Especially in a city like New York, that is very used to A-listers, which she is not.”
Megyn then cited the interview where Meghan’s formal title was used despite being the only people in the house, causing her and Link to burst into laughter. She quipped, “She appears to have people yell this about her wherever she goes, even if there’s no one else in the home!”
Link joined in the mockery, questioning, “The Duchess of Sussex? Who is that? Who is she? We don’t have titles here,” before continuing, “I’ve never seen someone dine out so hard on their title, Meghan is clinging hard to this Duchess title,” reports the Express.
“She was in the Royal Family for 18 months. I have stuff that has been in my freezer for 18 years!” Link humorously added, “She spent five hours in Sussex!”
Meghan has been the subject of mockery by more than just a pair of US podcast hosts. One individual who found the news particularly amusing was none other than Piers Morgan.
He posted a link on his social media that stated she is announced when entering a room, accompanying it with nothing but nine laughing emojis.
The spouse of Prince Harry has also been labeled as the “Duchess of Duds” by a Royal commentator following her recent interview; she was additionally described as a “Hollywood has-been with overhyped and underwhelming projects.”
