Melania Trump has taken full control as King Charles and Queen Camilla prepare to arrive in the US later today, according to reports.
Despite the recent events, Buckingham Palace confirmed the four-day trip will go ahead “as planned” and is due to conclude on Thursday, April 30.
Now it has been revealed that Melania Trump has been preparing for the visit nonstop.
A source involved in the planning told The Telegraph, “Melania is totally across it. There’s lots of attention to detail, and she admits it has to be a great success.”
The King and Queen will attend a garden party and a state dinner, as well as exchanging honey from bees at Windsor Castle with Mr and Mrs Trump, who also keep a beehive at the White House.
Their Majesties will also join the President and First Lady for a tour of the expanded White House beehive after tea in the Green Room on Monday afternoon, April 27.
On Tuesday morning, April 28, the President and First Lady will greet the King and Queen with a traditional military arrival ceremony, complete with honors, national anthems and a 21-gun salute.
The King will later address Congress on Tuesday before travelling to New York for a 9/11 memorial service. He is also expected to meet city mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Donald Trump has previously spoken warmly of the monarchy, telling the BBC earlier this week that the state visit could help strengthen US–UK relations.
“I know him well, I’ve known him for years,” the president said. “He’s a brave man, and he’s a great man.”
